Ah, yes, that magical little word. That one word that carried more power than all the other words combined. That one word that turned all the other risks into small potatoes.

I glanced around me. This time there was no Momma or Babe to block me. No captain within hearing distance to forbid me. No pirates to stop me. Perfect. It was just me and the submarine.

I'd seen it from the surface. I'd seen it through the minisub's window. But I'd never seen it in person.

I looked down at the wreck. There it lay, begging me to visit. I took a deep breath , readjusted my mask, and started for it. Chances were high that I would find the gold and become everybody's hero.

Well, maybe those are the chances for normal people, but let's not forget who we're dealing with here. . . .
